Really pleasantly surprised by this Korean restaurant in Chinatown! The banchans were well portioned and they refilled it without us asking. Love the macaroni salad and fishcakes especially. They also had a steamed egg for us before serving us what we ordered. The fried chicken was yummy and we got the original one - there wasn't much sauce on it (it's on the dryer/crispier style which is a good change from the saucier/wetter korean fried chicken you may get elsewhere) but it was still flavorful and tender. I like that they even gave us plastic gloves. The combos were delicious. We had the galbi and seafood tofu combo which hit the spot and was super delicious. The pork belly and mushroom tofu combo was perfectly balanced. It was the perfect amount for us (not too full but super satisfied). Definitely recommend!

A few friends and I came here for dinner. It's pretty casual, which was nice. The menu has lots of options, we order the japche and seafood scallion pancake to share, both were very tasty. The bonchon was also plentiful with generous portions. Two I hadn't experienced before was a macaroni salad and steamed eggs, both of which I enjoyed (sorry, no pics, we were ravenous). We also ordered the mandoo dumplings but there was a bit of a mixup and we never received them -- turns out they got brought to another table in error, but it was a-ok because honestly, we over ordered so they kind of did us a favor! They removed it from our bill without mention. I shared the bulgogi bimbimbop and some of the fried chicken. The bimbimbop was good, but I thought it was a little light on the bulgogi, and they had some shredded scrambled egg in lieu of a fresh egg which I was a bit bummed about. Also, this is a mix your own situation, I'm not the most experienced but the few places I've had it before they usually crack the egg, add some sauce and mix it up. The friend chicken was really good, and the pieces are huge, I almost wish they offered to purchase it by the piece, but for drumsticks, it comes with 4. I think it's BYOB, we didn't see any alcohol, but it was a super long and hot day so we were all chugging water anyway.

(Overall: B) - Overall, I was very happy to visit this Korean spot in Chinatown today for lunch. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the food to be reasonable and filling. There are areas of improvements to be made, but I would look forward to coming back for sure. (Banchan: A) - I love the generosity of their portions of Banchan and that the staff refill without asking. They have a good mix of creamy, spicy, mild, vegetable, and fish that I think serves as a delicious appetizer. The kimchi is beautifully spicy but not overwhelming; the cucumber were perhaps a tad too sweet, and the fish cake could benefit from being more saline forward. (Bulgogi: A) - This bulgogi is mildly sweet and salty, and very tender; I like the yam noodles and mushrooms mixed in and its quite a reasonable and well made portion in conjunction with the tofu soup as a combo. (Seafood Soup: C) - The tofu and the flavor of this soup comes through very pleasantly. Unfortunately, the seafood was beyond overcooked and I think the egg would've been left better poached instead of shattered. -- Food: E Presentation: E Price: +1 Atmosphere: E Service: +1 Menu: +1 Overall: +3 B Insta/Beli: @amei_eats

stumbled upon this korean gem in the heart of chinatown. very heartwarming to see other asian cuisines joining chinatown so i dont need to trek all the way to ktown just for some good korean food lol right off the bat, i had to take off a star because today is scorching hot and they dont have ac in here :( think they just have fan in central air great selection of ban chans and free refills! we ordered the cheese jeyuk bibimbop and the bulbogi over rice. the bulgogi came with wild rice instead of white. love the pair. jeyuk didnt miss. but with the hot stone, if you dont like the crispy rice bottom - make sure to continuously mix the bowl so the bottom doesnt scorch. will definitely be back to try other menu items!

My go to Korean food delivery. They're known for their tofu soups but I like their other stews better like gamjatang. Fair amount of banchans and the portion is big.

I really loved this place! I wasn't expecting too much, as it is a Korean restaurant in Chinatown, but I was amazed by the food and the quality. The atmosphere is very homely, with large tables and plenty of seating. I could see how it'll be a good place to just larger parties. We walked in at around 6 on a weekday and had no problem getting a seat, however the place did fill up pretty quickly afterwards. We ordered the combo, which included stir fry squid and a seafood tofu soup. For around $28.99, it was plenty of food for 2. The squid was delicious, and came in this spicy sauce. It paired really well with the purple rice and other banchan. The soup was also really good, and had plenty of seafood. They were generous with the amount of mussels and oysters they put! We also got the seafood pancake for around $18, which was a little disappointing. Although it had plenty of seafood in it, it wasn't as crispy as I would've expected and lacked flavor. The banchan was great though. The kimchi was addicting and the bean sprouts were nice and crunchy. They also gave a complimentary egg souffle, which was a nice surprise. I would definitely come back here if I'm craving a homestyle Korean meal. The fried chicken looked great, and it seems like they are known for it. Overall, it was great value and great quality!

We came on a Saturday before the dinner rush. We got a wide variety of banchans with my favorites being the steamed egg, seaweed, and fish cake slices. Our food was served quickly and was super hot. The bulgogi bimbimbap was delicious but you definitely need the red bimbimbap sauce to go with it for flavor. I like letting the rice settle a bit on the stone bowl so it can crisp up before mixing everything. The place is spacious and would be great for groups as well. The lady in the front is super attentive and helped us refill our banchans!

Solid spot that will fulfill your craving for soondubu if you're ever in Chinatown/st marks/LES. Got the seafood tofu soup combo w/ LA galbi (25.99 during lunchtime), seafood soup combo w/ bulgogi combo (24.99 during lunchtime), and combo wings soy garlic. Tofu soups had a nice seafood flavor, huge fan of their kimchi (it tastes like jongga's mat kimchi - the one with the yellow decal on the label, not the one from Costco lol) Wings were crunchy, but not super intense in flavor like the ones at other Korean spots. Service was fast and servers were really sweet. I wouldn't say this is the best spot for soon tofu/grilled meats/fried chicken any means BUT its reminiscent of home cooking. Would come again :)

Stopped by on a cold day wanting to get something warm to eat and the Gamja Tang and Beef Ramen did not disappoint. The broths were rich and flavorful and portion size was great. They also gave us ban chan, which came with a complimentary steamed egg! The service was great and staff was extremely friendly. Definitely a nice place to stop by for some comforting Korean food!
